New Music: Israeli Producer and Vocalist – ZIV Releases Her New Chilling Lo-fi Hip Hop EP, ‘Near Mint’

Taking the plunge into studying music from the early age of 16, Ziv Barashi went form staring as the lead singer of a group, to writing, producing and recording her second EP titled ‘Near Mint’

She incorporates a blend of lo-fi RnB, and soul with her luscious vocals providing a befitting accompaniment to the downtempo mood throughout her latest EP.

One of the stand out tracks is ‘9/11’, which has a beautiful sultry tone radiating from the boom bap drum pattern, which nicely envelopes over her slightly distorted vocals. ZIV’s experimentation with her vocals and sounds highlights an interesting direction in her music, coming from a jazz and classical background

Speaking on the EP she writes, “The exception of being Near Mint was a big step for me to except myself. I used to push myself to perfecting and it costed my soul a lot. In terms of love and relationships, Near Mint describes both sides of the coin. Falling in love, rising in love. Love makes the world move but love breaks your heart.”

New Music: Overture/Joni – Chewbeats

East-London based, Italian Native – Emanuele aka Chewbeats announces his second release titled ‘Campari Beatz Vol 1’, set for 12th April. Drawing inspiration from some of 90s Hip Hop’s most admired and iconic producers, in the Madlib, MF Doom, and J Dilla to name a few. Having received respected praise for his first release back in November of last year, from BBC 1Xtra host and DJ – Jamz Supernova, Emanuele looks to immerse listeners on another wistful journey of lucid beats.
Premiering are the first two tracks from his forthcoming release, titled Overture and Joni respectively. Emanuele finely manipulates the instrumentals cleverly throughout ‘Overture’, as the psychedelic guitar loops intertwine with sampled drums, create a contemporary Lo-Fi Hip Hop tone and rhythm. The same Hip-Hop influence seamlessly blend to the following track – ‘Joni’. The pumping wind instrumentals against the timely drum pattern immediately grab your attention, which later develops into a sonically gifting looping hypnotic breakdown.
