Producer Lo-Wu is an eccentric subvert of contemporary forms, effortlessly fusing Weightless Grime, UK Garage, R&B and anything Soulful into bangers for thinkers. Dips is a South London rapper with sleek flavour who presents harsh realities from the heart’s perspective.
‘Take Off’ is a celebration of integrity, and how truly beautiful a lavish lifestyle feels when earnt without the assistance of capital that can’t help but destroy the community.
UK MC, Dips teams up with producer Lo-Wu for a new age garage track titled, ‘Teach You Something’. The two are forming quite the duo with a couple Garage releases together this year ‘Take Off’ , and ‘Focus Riddim’.
The downtempo drum pattern at the beginning of the track leaves plenty of room for Dips’ to confidently get his bars off, whilst the whooshing synth sounds ebbing and flowing around his lyrics lift the mood of the track. Lo-Wu cleverly adds more vigor and energy to the track mid section, for Dips to find different pockets in his delivery. The catchy hook is supported by featuring UK artist K the Infinite, who adds his own flavour to track.
The brilliantly directed, raw footage from the video perfectly reflects the London’s alternative night scene from the artists perspective.
