DJ Mix: Charles Vaughan #1

We invited the London based DJ, Radio host, and Event Curator – CHARLES VAUGHAN to start our guest mix series. In a short space of time, Charles has played around some amazing venues around London such as, The Pickle Factory, Ghost Notes, Queen Of Hoxton to name a few. Showcasing an eclectic mix of Latin and African samples over some exciting rhythmic and experimental beats escapes on a voyage of music inspired from across parts of the world.

Charles commented on the mix – “I was inspired by the rhythms and pulsating drive of Curimão by Fernando Falcão and decided to structure the mix from this origin. I wanted to showcase some deeper dancefloor orientated cuts with international grooves mixed in with it, taking the listener from the opening of the club to the final tune over an hour. I’ve also included some OtC cuts I don’t get to play often since it’s been a year since I started working there and the catalogue is unrivalled in its quality. The thread I wanted to highlight is the depth that each track pushes, always reaching out to the listener through the speaker to entice them in with the driving and rolling rhythms pushing and pulling against one another.”
